Why didn't that Democratic tree hugger with the ecology veep head us off dependence on oil? 911? Gimme a break! Do you remember 1973? How much warning do you NEED? Life IS a bit more complicated than is being made out. Mention is made of hybrids. Uh, hybrid cars burn gasoline. Gasoline is made from oil. Electric, you say? Looked at what electric batteries that will get you 300 miles cost? Then there's that long recharge wait. 300 miles is generally considered about the range a vehicle should have before needing refilling/recharging. Solar cells? Heard about all the chemicals needed to produce them and, when produced, what they cost? There may just be some technological and scientific problems here still looking for solutions.
