Personal Accounts:

A few weeks ago a friend in his early 50s met an untimely death. His family had to borrow money for the funeral. His life time of contributions to Social Security is gone with no benefit to him. With personal accounts he would have had an estate sufficient to at least bury him.

Now this guy was not poor - he had some reversals in life that left him apparently in a minimal asset situation - leased car, rented appartment etc.

How anyone can be against the concept of individual accounts escapes me completely. How they are funded is a legitimate debate - but against the concept - pure political posturing by those who only want an issue that is available by decieving the vulnerable - the democrats - wholly dependent on an uneducated populace!

As Ruffini notes, the Dems might have uncorked their champagne too early.

It's not a poll on Bush's nonplan.
