Nice post.

I doubt John will get past the first sentence.

John accepts lack of integrity, marital infidelity, practising homosexuality, acute alcoholism, slandering opponents, and other acts of morale turpitude as normal business practises of the Democratic party leadership.

John...re WMD...you "may" have missed these comments from Kennedy, Hillary, Kerry, etc... But somehow, I think you heard them...<g>

Oh, I thought Iraq had wmds. There were some reputable folk around who didn't think so but not a helluva lot. I recall typing here about Powell's UN speech. I was impressed.

What I didn't know was that there was concern within the administration about the paucity of evidence to support that view. And what I argued at the time was that the US should give the UN inspections teams time to do their work. I thought the run up to war much too hasty. And I suspected the motives were less about wmds than about the demonstration effect of using American military might.

It's what we see now about the degree to which those wmd arguments were not believed within the administration that remakes the justifications. At least for me.

Looked a bit more at Castine, Maine. Looks fascinating. I received, I don't know whether I typed this before or not, a private e-mail about the section of the Maine coast from Kennebunkport up to Portland that makes it look fascinating. Along with places to stay and places to eat.

So we definitely have enough for more than one trip.
