>>>We spent a lot of time walking around the city. The kids loved the parks, and we had a lot of fun people watching in the parks.<<<

I am just like your kids, then. There were children sailing boats in the bassin in the Luxembourg Garden and there was even a small student riot when the Henri IV Lycée let out for Easter weekend. The Parc Monceau is especially charming, and we also went out to the plant park of the Bois de Vincennes. We walked along the Canal St. Martin, visited the Pere Lachaise Cimetery twice and I went alone to the Cimetiere Montparnasse to visit the Baudelaire grave and monument. In Pere Lachaise, Oscar Wilde's sphinx-like grave marker is covered with lipsticky kisses; happily I did not have to watch any of these being applied.
