I consider myself to be a libertarian (even though many here would probably consider me a right-winger) and am a non-smoker. Here in Florida, indoor restaurants are now non-smoking. Used to have smoking and non-smoking sections, which was fine with me. If a restaurant didn't have a non-smoking section, we went somewhere else. Government is getting way to invasive. Another example is the use of eminent domain. Used to be just used for things like roads, schools (things in the public interest). Now it is being totally abused to increase tax base (Wal-Mart is one of the worst abusers in this regard. They will get local govn. to take property to resell to them on the basis of increased tax revenue is "for the public good.")

Of course not all libertarians think exactly the same way. I need to study their position on smoking more thoroughly. I was hoping my post would cause some of them to pop in and speak out!

I have to take our dogs to the park, now, though. It is bright and sunny after a morning that threatened drizzles, so I don't want to miss it, and they are looking miserably bored.

I will probably be back later, since I am forcing myself to take it very easy until my lungs are less congested.
