But cheer up Ray, you definitely have CDMA coverage via the Globalstar system, even if you are out beyond the black stump in rural hinterlands, beyond terrestrial services. globalstarusa.com

To avoid terrestrial CDMA in the USA, you must be somewhere weird [or more likely confused about what is CDMA].

There's also Verizon and maybe some other options.
