The problem is that it is clear from reading the article about the Iraqi farmers that they are not allowed to use the seeds they have developed over thousands of years. They will have to buy their seeds from Monsanto. Monsanto did nothing to justify making a profit in this way. It is just a hugely greedy U.S. company operating throughout the world with the Bush administration helping them in every way to secure contracts. Iraq is just being carved up for U.S. business interests, really.
