"That's one very specific type of equity transaction which probably needs to be done away with " Yes, and just think how many times that the same evolution is done in different ways, and how few of these things are caught by the SEC. One of the problems IMO is the very structure of hedge fund families. They all seem to have some sort of financing arm in the same family, tell me that doesn't lead to some shady trading.....but at this point it seems there's not much in the system to even discourage this type of thing.
