PP&M, Trini Lopez, and a host of others in the 60's. The Weavers got blacklisted for it in the 50's. They also had a song called "Wimoweh", which was a Zulu tribal chant that The Tokens later turned into "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". I guess their most recognized hit was "Good Night Irene". The bulk of their songs were written by a black man on a Georgia chain gang named Huddy Ledbetter, better known as Leadbelly.
