Well, there is also that third way, the muddle-it-through way. It may not do much of anything, just resorting the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. You could easily get a strongman type in Iraq and a long term settling back into despotism. Only strengthened by its survival capabilities. Unlikely. But none of us knows the future.

I keep trying to think of the Yogi Berra comment about the future. Anyone remember it?
