"Globalization" is inevitable.

I agree but Friedman puts too much of a happy face on it. As he did in the Lexus et al book. Just beneath globalization is a possibly increasing likelihood of serious ethnic conflict. I forget the book by the Yale Law School prof about such in Indonesia and Malaysia. Also, globalization without some sort of ways to manage the global economy is likely to produce severe economic swings. Bill Greider's book is the best I've read on this topic.
