It's amazing how tiny all the seats are, and the cars, and everything, in Europe- and especially in France. The people we saw were mini-people, for the most part. It was nice, because in crowds I could see everything, because I was so much taller than everyone else (and the only substantial groups of tourists we saw were Japanese and Chinese, and they were shorter than I am too).

In the Galleria Lafayette they don't even carry sizes that are larger than a US 14- and they consider a US 14 very big indeed, as it is.

I agree with you about the walking. I don't think the actual weight is as important as the fitness- and all that walking makes you really fit. I noticed that in Scotland, where I walked in to town every day to shop, or walked the other way to the Tesco retail park. I hadn't walked that much every day since college- and I came home from living abroad feeling absolutely super vital. So now we walk a lot more here, too.
