It's much too complex for me. I see merit to letting things go the way they are going. On the other hand, I can also acknowledge the validity of the points made by folks who want tighter controls. We can digitize things, but that does not mean the world is itself binary. Does it have to be one or the other? Can we do some regression analysis - where we can find the point where we have maximum security with the least amount of pain (violation of human rights) and find mutual benefits. It is a complex world. But smart solutions exist. We do not have to accept the suggestions of all the thugs that want to only maximise their own particular advantage.
