NEW YORK - In China, the population under the age of 15 is almost as large, 289 million, as the entire population of the U.S., 296 million.

As the standard of living improves in China, another growth area is technology. For 2004, Intel reported $4.7 billion sales to mainland China, 14% of the company's total revenue, and up 26% over 2003 levels. Intel shares carry an estimated 2005 price-to-earnings ratio of 18.

PS Was surprised someone would put 100% of their portfolio into one company, especially a disk drive company. Even Singapore has concerns about the commodity aspect of disk drive companies - I had met with someone from their govt's center that's responsible for future technology directions and disk drive was used as an example of what they would like to avoid. They want to go higher up the IP food chain. I have to say, it's infinitely easier working with the Singaporean government than it is our own, should a person wish to. Really strange, I thought, given we're supposed to be an open, free capitalistic country here in the USA.
