Any other laws you'd make optional? Plenty. Let's see -- laws against fornication, laws against adultery, laws against sodomy, laws against prostitution, laws against homosexuality, laws against having sex with someone who is aged 17, and all the other laws that we don't really enforce. Does anybody really get a ticket for driving 56 mph in a 55 zone? That's just for starters. We don't really want to get rid of illegal aliens, any more than we really want to put adulterers in prison. Otherwise, we'd do it. But don't blame me, I am not the one who made the system the way it is, I am just pointing out the way it really is. We get cheap labor, they don't get to stay when we're done with them.
