<<I didn't get that point. It is true that when you hit about 40-50 things stop working as well so I wouldn't dismiss the old doc completely. But gingivitis does get worse for the elderly.>>

I'm using two kinds of tooth paste and two kinds of mouthwash to prevent any mouth problems. 7 years ago I turned 50 and my dentist wanted me to spend $6,000 and have my gums cut. He sent me to a periodontist who said my teeth would all fall out in a year if I didn't have it done. Took X-rays to prove it but they showed nothing.

Periodontist wouldn't turn the exam in to the insurance unless I had it done. Dentist kept telling me I had to sign a paper that I didn't take his advice. I signed it although I didn't like the term "make" when I had a gun in my vehicle and he didn't. I switched dentists and was told I had no problem at all.

Weirdest of all, I had a stomach problem and my doctor had retired. New doc did help my stomach problem but put me on diabetes pills. Lowest dose of the mildest. When I felt better I had a 16 ounce steak plus fried potatoes and onions and several 7 and 7s. Took my first pill when I went to bed. At 2am I woke up shaking the bed. I think my blood sugar must be way too high, took the reading and I was at going into shock low. I mentioned this and the doc said take a glass of orange juice to bed. I quit taking the pills and tested normal for the next year. I told him I wasn't taking the pills and he tells me to keep taking them because they're working.
