I wasn't bearish at those lower levels. I owned some energy stocks, and still do.

But others on this thread keep posting articles from energy perma - bulls, and somebody poked fun at a Merrill analyst for advising caution on the sector.

Why can't the analysis go both ways? Oil is a commodity after all. It has periods of upward runs, often followed by very, very deep falls.

Oil could very easily go a good bit higher from here. But caution should be warranted when a major brokerage house starts touting $100 oil. It sure starts to remind me of their love for tech in years past.

I'll stop posting here if I'm required to be an oil and steel bull for eternity.
