Why? I don't recall that we added in the number of Germans and Japanese and all the others who were fighting us and our allies in WWI or in WWII... Could you find me a link that shows those numbers?

The Kosovo conflict didn't come to our shores, take 3,000 lives and inflict thousands of injuries on Americans and the guests of Americans who happened to be at various sites on 9-11. The Kosovo conflict didn't kill our Marines in the Middle East, didn't inflict the injuries, deaths and destruction of property with WTCI, didn't bomb the US Embassies, didn't kill our Military on the USS Cole, and all the etc's for years!

I believe comparing the Kosovo conflict to and Iraq and Afghanistan is apples and oranges.

As for the Iraq numbers themselves, if the question is the degree to which the power of the insurgency is measured by these numbers, I think you have to add in the numbers of Iraqis killed and wounded as well.
