That's why you sip and not gulp.

One thing about the "good 'ol days" of the cocktail hour wasn't to get three sheets to the wind, it was to enjoy a drink with family or friends or alone if that was what you wanted. Relax sipping a well mixed libation and digest the days events before dinner.

Now a days, it's drink as much as fast as you can not enjoying the drink it's own self. A lot of the drinks are mixed with pre-packaged crap with a shelf life of a hundred years. Most bar tenders aren't able to make even a decent Old Fashion because they don't know how to mix the needed ingredients, they use pre-made crap.

Cocktails are designed to be sipped and enjoyed not guzzled and regurgitated.

I would some day like to open a cocktail bar that serves them the correct way.
