"Doesn't really matter who the next ...

Maybe the next one will encourage us all to renew to our natural noble human condition with faith and conviction. If he comes out of the vatican wearing cloths donated from the salvation army and issues a proclamation for us all to begin by stepping away from those men wearing the flowing robes, who are toting collection plates, and directs us to quickly exit all buildings claiming to be God's authority ... I will pause, at least for the moment, to lend him my ear.

9.>>>> The Glory of the Olive. The Order of St. Benedict has said this Pope will come from their order. It is interesting that Jesus gave his apocalyptic prophecy about the end of time from the Mount of Olives. This Pope will reign during the beginning of the tribulation Jesus spoke of. The 111th prophesy is "Gloria Olivae" (The Glory of the Olive). The Order of Saint Benedict has claimed that this pope will come from their ranks. Saint Benedict himself prophesied that before the end of the world his Order, known also as the Olivetans, will triumphantly lead the Catholic Church in its fight against evil. <<<<<<

Biographical certainties are sketchy concerning St. Benedict. What is known is that he was born in the Umbrian town of Nursia, near Spoleto, Italy, in the waning years of the Roman Empire, c. AD 480.

If this comes true our next pope will be Italian. Some are already saying third world country !

Did you ever hear about the funeral for Pope Pious XII in 1958? This is a good one...

The pope's doctor had convinced the mucky-mucks to try this new method of embalming (which he had supposedly invented), which would presumably preserve Pious XII forever.

It didn't quite work that way. There was a chemical reaction, and the pope's body literally exploded in the casket while being transported to the funeral.

This guy thinks Malachy predicts the next (last?) Pope will be black and take the name Benedict.

Message 21201657

I think they've kind of worn out the names John and Paul for a while. Wonder what the set of possible names are?
