With a fraction of the population, both cities maintain a much higher murder rate than armed Idaho, both statistically and in real numbers.

I don't know whether you're missing my point or just making me do the math.

If you do the math, you find that Idaho has 17 people per square mile whereas Newark has 11,538 people per square mile.

And you want us to believe that Idaho has fewer murders because Idaho has gun carry laws?

Your gun carry laws may be a factor, but they are obviously a minor factor. Crowding is and has always been a compelling factor in human fractiousness. You find that in other animals, too. It's hard to imagine that arming the populace would overcome that fractiousness.

Perhaps it would, but we should study that carefully before jumping to that solution from simplistic comparisons. Idaho has more potatoes grown than Newark, too. Perhaps the solution to the murder problem is to grow more potatoes in Newark...

Trenton NJ has 85,000 and Newark NJ has 300,000. I believe John lives between the two cities.

Nope, well north of there. In Bergen County. NE corner of Jersey. Right up against the GW Bridge.

Karen makes a good point, Mike. I'm curious what your counter argument is.
