Looks like the last time they changed them was on 8/13/2004 when the REPO rate went from 8 to 7.5. They peaked way back in September 2002. POG RAND hit its upper resistance for the first time (peaked) shortly there after in January and HMY peaked around May of 2003.

As I see it, the last time the SA miners took off the RAND was getting crushed and the central bank overreacted with rate hikes and swung the currency back to far in the other direction subsequently crushing the SA miners. Lets hope they overreact(ed) again in the other direction.
