Actually Terri Schaivo's case depended almost entirely on
what Terri would have wanted. And the legal standard required
was that "Clear & Convincing Evidence" must be established
that Terri wanted death or the law requires the state to err
on the side of life.

The evidence presented was clearly conflicting (3 said she
didn't want to live like that & 2 said she did), yet somehow
the judge ruled in favor of Michael & death.

FWIW, I absolutely would not want to live if I was in the
same condition as Terri Schaivo ended up in. That does not
give me the right to project my personal views onto another
person under any circumstances.
