Amy, The Harvard president didn't even include one statement acknowledging that research topics are quite male dominated (e.g. auto performance rather than auto safety), and as such that plays a very, very huge role into whether women pursue science or not.

And he won't have a chance to, either. To me, he wanted to open up discussions, but to many, he came off sexist and bigoted. Just another example of political correctness stifling polite discourse in favor of what the establishment wants.

By the way, who said women have to prefer auto safety over auto performance? Reminds me of that commercial where various female athletes were naming various performance features of a certain car make, then remarked, "But what do we know? We're just girls."

On a serious note, how will Intel succeed with the Home Digital?

Beats the crap out of me. Maybe by integrating DSP functionality into current Pentiums?

Don't professors choose their research topic? If so, how does other previous professor's research topics affect a woman's choice to pursue science or not?
