I've been shot with a .22 and a shotgun. Had a 30-06 pointed at me. All hunting things. It does change your perspective of things.

George, I found what looks to me to be a serious response to the Lott thesis in a Brookings paper by John Donahue of Stanford. I posted the link to it and a summary of his conclusions. I would be interested to hear your response.

You can't get a concealed carry permit in VA if you have a criminal record nor a history of domestic violence. That knocks out a large number of bad actors from the pool.
