The article mislabels Paul Erdman as an economist. He is rather a novelist, a financial commentator and a one time financial adventurer. I suspect he knows less than we all do about India, just isn't bashful about writing, that's his bent.
As everyone and his cousin knows, India is hampered by religions and the scorching tropical heat.
