Nice rant...I'm from New Orleans, and I guarantee you that at LEAST 90% of the shrimp sold in restaurants throughout the country is imported/frozen...moreso in shrimp sold in groceries (probably 98%). The difference in taste is obvious, the frozen stuff is absolutely tasteless. P*sses me off, too, 'cause I do a lot of creole cooking and you just can't find decent ingredients anymore when you're not right on the gulf coast.

That said, if you stand up in the middle of a Red Lobster and start ranting about this, yer not gonna get a lot of sympathy from the "patrons"... they're there BECAUSE they're sheeple, no?
