"Hollywood sure has embraced communism with open arms.
"In a town where antiwar activism is hot, a militant icon is even hotter: 'The Motorcycle Diaries,' a saintly portrayal of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara in his early days ... won the Oscar for best song. ...
"Filming is scheduled to start later this year on 'Che,' a Steven Soderbergh ('Traffic') vehicle starring Benicio del Toro as the famed Marxist. ...
"Guevara, in his will, praised the 'extremely useful hatred that turns men into effective, violent, merciless, and cold killing machines.' He tried to spread the havoc caused by the Cuban revolution in other countries from Africa to South America, rallying for 'two, three, many Vietnams!'
"Guevara oversaw executions at La Cabana prison; some of those executed were his former comrades who wouldn't relinquish their democratic beliefs. 'To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary,' he said. ... Guevara told a British reporter after the Cuban Missile Crisis that the nukes would have been fired if they were under Cuban control -- which would have wasted all of those future American suburban revolutionary wannabes."

re: That's why you will never understand people who oppose Bush. It really isn't personal.

If it's personal, Ten can just dismiss all arguments against Bush policy as prejudiced. It reinforces his mindset and he doesn't have to look deeper at people's complaints about the issues.

There is a dynamic in play with Ten that feels almost defensive...........like he's not entirely comfortable with his position. If that's true, it might explain why he makes such a big deal about the ABB position......he certainly responds to it as if its an extremist position. It might feel that way to him because of his own seeming indecision.

And of course Bush is a shirt sleeve Christian, so he can do no wrong in Ten's eyes.

I guess you are forgiven a lot when you are an active Christian.
