Yes, we agree as to what the chart is saying. My point is that it doesn't invalidate Howy's contention that gold has appreciated with respect to the yen, the euro, the swiss franc, and the spx from a longer-term perspective (i.e., from 2000). Whether we look at this price appreciation as a fall in the respective currencies and a deflation of the stock market bubble (as you suggest), or a rise in the price of gold (bull market), it is the same phenomenon, and our description is just a matter of perspective, not so?
