GOP Pounces on Byrd Link to Liberal Group

Wed Apr 6, 7:55 AM ET Top Stories - Los Angeles Times

By Ronald Brownstein Times Staff Writer

WASHINGTON — With an early fundraising blitz, the online liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org has shown both its potential as a Democratic asset and a Republican target in the 2006 elections.

In less than three days last week, the group's political action committee raised from its members nearly $833,000 for Sen. Robert C. Byrd (news, bio, voting record) (D-W.Va.), who next year could face his first competitive race in decades.

*******

Funny how much money MoveOn.org raised for this 87-year-old former member of the KKK. Even Obama is supporting this guy. All just to support their incumbent in the heart of "Red America."

"I hope they don't. Tom Delay is our friend."

I know. But if Drudge isn't sugar-coating this...

But consider this. Tom ain't going to go without a fight. And Tom doesn't fight fair, he fights for all the marbles and what ever else he can pick up. If you read what he says, he feels the Republican party and the House are just extensions of himself and he likely will have no compunction in dragging both of them down with him. That might actually be entertaining...

If that happens, then I know there is a God! <g>
