What is the "US Iraq"? I've heard of the "US of A" and I've heard of "Iraq", but what is the "US Iraq"? Is Iraq going to be the 51st State? Boy that's going to piss off the Puerto Ricans.

Like the US Iraq is not a country where major national issues are normally decided by a referendum.

Last year we saw an attempt by Bush & Co to deal with something called marriage in a manner that differs only semantically from "referendum". Certainly a great many voters considered it a "major national issue" as well. I'll grant you the "normally" part however.
