Bill, You got it! Trudy's final home was ideal for her. There, she could be the only child she was meant to be. The elderly couple who took her made it clear that if I ever tried to take her back, they would simply move and not tell me where they had gone. I assured them they had no worries there. <g>

They thought Trudy adorable when she would growl at them if her food dish was not put on the floor as soon as she thought it should be. They absolutely loved to see her dash about like unto a windup toy. They seemed to draw from her unbridled energy and take delight in it. They were good for her and she was good for them.

Some years later, I learned the wife had died in her sleep, with Trudy snuggled up next to her. - Holly
