If we were all really into revealing our "inner selves" here, there would be little need for private messages, would there? And if people revealed their inner selves, we'd probably have even more conflicts on SI than we already do. But most people here are not so foolish as to reveal their inner selves- no, we reveal carefully selected bits, and as you so handily quote, these self selected bits are personas. Oddly enough you have supported cosmic's point. I hope he is adequately grateful. "personas The role that one assumes or displays in public or society; one's public image or personality, as distinguished from the inner self. " SI is public and a society- and those folks that have wantonly revealed too much of themselves, have (by their own admission) been sorry for it. I'm surprised your carefully selected and manicured persona would deny that. Why does the persona thing upset you, when you so clearly have a carefully maintained persona yourself?
