I've found that minds are rarely changed on SI, despite the most cogent and effective arguments anyone can muster. Pretty soon things degenerate into name calling or insults, which I care little for unless they are REALLY creative, and not hurtful. The only mind I know of that has been changed on SI is my own, and that is because I became convinced that my perceptions of a particular argument were wrong.

Some of my best friends and even my own brother disagree with me about politics, so we just agree to not discuss it. Or in the case of my walking friends, I just listen to what they say without reacting to it.

It's OK to talk about ghost towns and poetry. I don't feel the need to convince you that I am right about those things. They are what they are.
