No doubt one can find motivations and connections behind people with certain points of view.

The naked shorting debate, together with issues relating to hedge funds and MM's, is not going away.

It's unfortunate that some try to make it an issue of which side has scammier connections.

On one side, you have touts supporting the claims of naked shorting. Attacking touts and their scammy companies is quite easy. Attacking the substantive issues is difficult.

On the other side, you have professional bashers supporting claims that naked shorting is mythical. Attacking bashers by virtue of whether they were associated with convicted felons or testified on their behalf is quite easy.

Hopefully, any "crusaders" who truly want fairer markets, particularly for the investing retail public, will join in calls for objective investigations.

I'm starting to wonder if that whole Dateline business wasn't some kind of April Fool's joke.
