Yesterday or the day before freshman Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fl) discovered that a junior legal council in his office had authored the memo, complete with typos and bad grammar. He terminated the young man's employment.

Hmmm......"junior legal council".........that's not what Sen. Martinez called him:

""It is with profound disappointment and regret that I learned today that a senior member of my staff was unilaterally responsible for this document," Martinez said."

If he had been a 'junior' as you suggest, he might have kept his job.
