If I remember correctly, the Press Poodle said that someone in the WH had greased Gannon/Guckert through. OK, he didn't say it exactly in that manner but someone from on high in the WH had allowed him in under extraordinary circumstances for years. Press Poodle McClellan wasn't going to take any responsibility for who gets into the press room. Why should he? He's only responsible for the press room. Bush administration = zero responsibility for anything. They're like 3 year olds always wanting the candy but never willing to take the blame for the cherry tree.
