OMGoodness yes. I still don't understand why this bastion of the teachings of Christ is enveloped in velvet, lace and gold. They used to have the cardinals camp out in cots in the hallways during the conclave. Now, however, they have beautiful marble suites where they can politic in comfort.

Considering that they're closing down parishes in the US due to lack of funds because of the child abuse scandals, why don't more people consider this display of wealth and politics unseemly? Is there a pure version of Christianity anywhere?

Not yet. I like reading about world leaders who wear yarmulkes.

PS. I'd stand in line for 10 hours to view mice elf. Can't imagine enuf others who would be there to make a 10 hour line, tho.
