Banc of America Securities reiterated a "buy" rating and $24 target price on Cisco Systems, saying the network equipment company should benefit from international expansion and new technologies.

Cisco has indicated that end markets are growing 25% year-over-year, with new products in voice over Internet protocol and security expected to help drive growth for the foreseeable future.

RE: "Now we are giving on services, hoping for what?"

Maybe the USA will invest their money, while they work? I don't know. : ) My guess is biotechnology, nanotechnology, and creating connected intelligence of medical devices. With all the Boomers aging, the demographics speak loudly towards medical innovations.

But I agree there is a crisis - how many engineering parents do you know that want their kids to go into engineering now? In the 90s, I only know of three sets of parents that didn't want their children to enter engineering. Today, it's beginning to feel like it's the reverse - as if only the parents with $10M or more, are comfortable with their kids entering an engineering field they enjoy.

Amy J
PS Do you think Banc of America got the $24 target price from this thread ?
