I believe that people like Hillary Clinton agree with the President about the Middle East, because they remember that one of Woodrow Wilson's 14 Points, was that Arabs in former Turkish territories should have the right of self determination. Wilson was undercut by a Republican Senate, by the French and British (so its late by 4 score and 7 years).

My reading of Hilary, which is admittedly not close or extensive, is that she was initially against the war, but has jumped on the bandwagon since the appearance-and I stress "appearance"- of actual democratic developments in Iraq. Hence, she is, like her husband, straddling the issue as best she can(just like the DLC) in a state that elected a republican governor. The rest of your contention would seem to depend on the definition of "wealthy," which appears to mean the really really wealthy.
