Swiftvets lied in collusion and were busted on every single lie by all non-partisan investigations. MSNBC's chief editor went so far as to blast O'Neill on screen as telling "lies! lies! lies!", risking his career to call a spade a spade. O'Neill doesn't care. He's opposed Kerry ever since Nixon's dirty tricks team recruited him in 1969. McCain also called them liars. So did anyone credible. What makes you think people with military medals don't lie? Some of those so-called SWiftvets have been rightwing activists since the 60's. Some of them were caught red-handed lying on TV. None of them actually served with Kerry on his boat. Every single claim of theirs was contradicted by people closer to the scene. They also were calling The Navy a liar, and in some cases, themselves liars, contradicting their own reports from the field. Just an obvious set up with Delay and Rove's buddies paying for everything. The fact is the military lifer types are much more rightwing than left, so it's easy to find Nam vets who hated war protests and are jealous of Kerry for all his medals. But in fact Kerry deserved his medals and never lied. In fact, he never even spoke about his combat experiences until he was forced to during the campaign. Not even to his family. When you kill hand-to-hand, see death and take shrapnel, that is real stuff, not some John Wayne fantasy.
