Left-Winger Criminals Beware:

Florida eyes allowing residents to open fire whenever they see threat

news.yahoo.com

MIAMI (AFP) - Florida's legislature has approved a bill that would give residents the right to open fire against anyone they perceive as a threat in public, instead of having to try to avoid a conflict as under prevailing law.

Outraged opponents say the law will encourage Floridians to open fire first and ask questions later, fostering a sort of statewide Wild West shootout mentality. Supporters argue that criminals will think twice if they believe they are likely to be promptly shot when they assault someone.

Republican Governor Jeb Bush, who has said he plans to sign the bill, says it is "a good, commonsense, anti-crime issue."

Current state law allows residents to "shoot to kill if their property, such as their home or car, is invaded by an unknown assailant."

But it also states that if a resident is confronted or threatened in a public place, he or she must first try to avoid the confrontation or flee before taking any violent step in self defense against an assailant.

The bill, supported by the influential National Rifle Association, was approved by both houses of the Republican-run legislature on Tuesday.

Chinu, you do understand that actual supply and demand ratios are significantly different from the Clinton years,

chinu. You said...."So you don't think that Bush has ulterior motives in driving up the price of oil so that he can force the issue with the American people to concede the issue about drilling in Anwar by his oil buddies.".....

Of course your original statement was altogether different....."Would you know when the Arabs will stop holding the US hostage with their high oil prices?"......
Message 21201855

So which is it chinu the arabs keeping prices up and holding the USA hostage or is it Bush keeping the prices up or do you have a third or maybe forth reason that you may come out with.

Do you ever try and think about a situation before blurting out some thoughtless reason that fits your agenda...a reason of course that you may well contradict in your next statement.

You said....." The Chinese economy is booming and not that of the US!! Do we know why? China with an agro based economy? shocking is it not?"......

NO, it is not shocking to me China has I think the largest population of any single country in the world and they are making their way into a modern world....why do you find that shocking....seems normal to me.

...."The Chinese economy is booming and not that of the US!! Do we know why?"......

For how many years has the USA been absorbing Chinese products being imported to the USA...has there been a trade defecit between the USA and China with the USA being on the losing side?....for how many years has there been a trade defecit between the USA and China?

How about the strong US dollar for so many years...you think maybe this had something to do with any trade defecit and maybe effected the ability of US producers to sell their products to other countries?

Why don't you come up with some sensible reasons instead of blaming Bush for everything you believe to be wrong with the world. You mentioned clinton...did he give any hi-tech information to China that may have helped them along in their journey into the modern world and their booming economy.
