Accusations are frequently proven to be either wrong, unsubstantiated, or unprovable. Under our system we have the presumption of innocence. In the case of Tom DeLay, Democrats seem to have him targeted. It is probably because he has balls. The charges against Tom DeLay appear to be politically motivated. We know that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have behaved similarly. Harry Reid used his position on the ethics committee to head off the advancement of ethics charges against him. Nope. There is significant differences between what Pelosi is doing and what Delay is doing. That's the distinction I am making. Now Reid of NV is a different story. He is showing the same signs of nepotism as Delay. However, that's just one thing on Reid. Delay has a whole laundry list of questionable and potentially illegal behavior. In addition, he is showing himself to have a very confused understanding of how the American gov't works when he does up special, congressional legislation for one person, calling back from recess all of the House members from God knows where so they can vote on his special legislation and then attacking the courts unfairly. These are far more serious issues than his nepotism. They suggest a man who is deficit in his knowledge and who appears to be suffering from megalomania. Add to this list, his use of Homeland Security's federal personnel and federal equipment to track down Texas [state] legislators two years ago, and his telling the Israelis that as keepers of Christian artifacts, they can get from the US whatever they want, and you've got a real loose and dangerous cannon. The man is out of control. And I am very sorry if you can't see that. Fortunately, it looks like his time is coming to an end. ted
