Actually, that's a classic "conflict of interests" that all euthanasia laws allow for. For instance, in Belgium, the law forbids people (relatives, heirs,...) who might profit (inherit) from the patient's death to have a say in the decision process (to euthanize the patient). Besides, we should keep in mind that, in the Schiavo case, the decision to terminate her vegetative agony was not taken overnight: she was cared for and properly nursed for FIFTEEN years....
