it´s just that you look at the "symbolic" angle, I look at the supply of volumes

Symbolic is ALWAYS more important and I'm not kidding around. There is the inertia of history, precedent, peoples jobs on the lines to veer away from the status quo.

Server volumes were always low compared to desktop chips- even during the days when AMD used to supply ~3million chips/Q- but AMD could not make any decent headway in the server market- even when they had the Athlon MP out for multiple years.

We are witnessing an "inflection point" here in the history of x86 servers.
