>Gas prices are a reflection of market conditions.

Yes, and if the market allows the oil companies to raise the prices as much as they'd like because people really believe that gas prices should be that high (because the news says so), then the prices are going high.

There's no fucking reason gas prices should be this high, and there's no reason that as they rise oil companies' profits should go up as well. It'd be a lot more believable if the profits stayed static. One war raised the prices this much? Sudden concern for conditions 30 years from now raised the prices this much? Bullshit. Total, utter bullshit. I believe more and more than much of this country is run by fucking robber barons, many of whom you champion.

And why should I continue to kid myself into thinking that we're not at war because of corporate reasons more than for "spreading democracy" or any other crap the President feeds us? Fuck it. Nearly every war in history has had a large economic cause, why should I believe that this one's any different?

I've read his position on the major issues and he reads like a typical GOPer.

You think he is a typical Republican because he is only a little left of center. He certainly is left of Domocrat Zell Miler. And yes, he was whining in the last election cycle that the GOP would not finance his election. He actually had to fund raise for himself.

Peter, the man is pro life. That may be a little left of Zell, the creep, but it is still right of center.

The data was vague.

How often is intellignece not gathered by human assets on the ground concrete? For that matter, how often is any intelligence concrete. Bush chose to allow the CIA, DIA and FBI interpret the data. He did what responsible people do every day, he listened to them. The spin is not working.

Bull. You need to read the CIA reports more closely. For an example, they told Bush not to use the allegation of Saddam buying yellow uranium in his State of the Union. They were not sure that it happened. He used it anyone.

Truth is Peter, you are strongly partisan. You are not interested in hearing the truth but rather protecting a fairly incompetent and duplicitous administration because they are from the right party and right of center. I understand but that's not where I am.

There were no weapons of mass destruction; Falsehood on the face.

Huh? Even Bush admits there were no WMDs.

Nice attempt at spin. Everyone admits there were WMDs in Iraq.

You are badly misinformed.

What Saddam did with them is the question that is mostly unanswered.

Listen carefully, Peter.......they were all destroyed under the auspices of the UN inspection teams. Saddam was bluffing in 2003 so that his enemies like Iran would not know that he was powerless. That conclusion has been well known for months.

Are you claiming that the chemical WMDs that Chemical Ali used on the Kurds were a figment of their imagination?

That was over ten years ago. Those weapons were destroyed. If they had not been, the chemicals would be decayed by now.

Are you claiming the whole scud missile systems with ranges in excess of the allowed maximum found in European scrap metal yards are fictional?

Yes, that was finally proven false.

Please! And the mobile chemical labs are still not conclusively proven either way.

Yes. They were not mobile chemical labs. Have you not read any of the final reports?

Frankly, hearing you talk like this is disturbing.

Gas prices are a reflection of market conditions. You might prefer a communist system where government sets prices. This is the logical outcome of the unprecedented growth in government spending during the Clinton years, followed by a tragic attack which magnified the recession Clinton left President Bush with. Deficit spending and our countries preference for imported goods have caused an imbalance of payments. The resulting decline in the dollar forced sheiks to raise the price of oil. You probably knew all of this, but were trying to score points. Perhaps you have been brainwashed by the FMSM and liberal professors to the point where you do not understand it. <-d)

I know how gas prices are set. I know what a communist system is. And I know that the current oil prices have nothing to do with Clinton.

You are badly, very badly misinformed. You are forming one bad opinion on top of another based on misinformation. In addition, you so badly want to protect the GOP politicians, you make assumptions that are not true.......like the senior legal counsel guy in Martinez's office became a junior guy.

Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Fox News are feeding you all the pablum of lies you want to believe. Its very disturbing and dangerous for this country.
