The Nazis killed millions. Other regimes since then have committed similar atrocities (for example in China and in Cambodia), and many regimes since then have commited lesser attrocities that are still a lot larger in scale then anything we have done at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo.

I'll repeat the fact that many others have done worse does not excuse or mitigate what Americans have done. You can recognize the fact that such abuses, or other ones that worse, are not rare, without saying that the American abuses were "ok" or "acceptable".
