If you feel like you are getting painted in to a corner I would suggest that perhaps you have already painted yourself in and i am just pointing it out.

You forget about Abu Graib. Torture did not stop when Saddam was toppled. And 1600 Americans would still be alive and 10,000 would still have their limbs if Bush and just waited for the inspections to be finished to prove there were no WMD's. We'd also have back about 500 billion dollars and oil prices would probably be less.

Also, wouldn't Saddam have been better taken care of with one surgical strike? Why did we have to occupy that country without any help from any major moderate Arab states? Especially based on a bunch of lies and disinformation?

Iraq is far from being over. It may be a thorn in our side for decades. Still I agree, Saddam was evil. But so were some of the Iraqi exiles Cheney used for "intelligence". So are a lot of people we deal with. In fact Reagan dealt with Saddam in quite friendly fashion and never complained about his tortures or uses of WMD's. Nothing is black and white in Iraq. It's all the lesser of two evils.
