Tejek, that's truly disgusting. Sounds like something you'd hear that was done in the 70s where a woman did all the work but didn't get the position. Regards, Amy J

However, due to the shortage of priests, there are women who do a lot of the work in churches that normally the priest would do but they are not allowed to give Mass.

Eucharistic ministers can give communion.

Lay ministers - are people who are not ordained but who participate in the church.

Married Men can be deacons, and there has been some movement towards allowing woman deacons but I think so far the idea has been rejected.
