You have no firsthand knowledge of retired racing greyhounds as pets. At least you have offered none. From what I understand of your position, you decided you would not want them as pets from what your experience was of them at the racing track. Now Ionesco's mother has taken care of one of them, and has several friends who have them and has spoken to them about them. This knowledge seems to be much more relevant than yours is. Not to mention the thousands of web sites supporting this position. Are there thousands of web sites arguing that retired greyhounds are horrible pets? Perhaps you could try to prove your point that way.
